Sorry I haven’t posted.. I can’t believe that being away for TWO days translates into four days of catching up with everything at home!!
I promise to post about the experience soon but until then let me just say that the experience was SO positive.. SO enlightening and so changing that we came away renewed.
Earlier tonight, I had a conversation with Chief about how the experienced had changed me and wanted to know if I was taking this walk alone or with him. He said that of course, we would be together so I told him that right now the kids are being shoved to the side.. That we can’t be only concerned for ourselves but for them also.. He was honest when he said that sometimes.. Most times.. He couldn’t stand being around him.. I told him I positively understood that (oh how I understand that) but we are the adults.
I suggested we start a morning routine.. He wakes us up before he leaves for work and we start the day with a family prayer. My thought is that getting up together and spending that little bit of time together and starting the day right could only have positive benefits. I told him that it was going to be brutal at first but nothing worthwhile is ever easy and hopefully wouldn’t take long to become routine
Tonight at dinner, he told them about our experience at the Rally and that we would be starting the mornings with prayer and resume attending church on Sunday.
This is already too long to post on my phone but I had just been thinking about how proud of him I was that he’s recognizing that what he’s been doing is having bad effects on the kids and is willing to put tbd time and effort in now.
I have hope.. But we’ll see
Im glad you had a great time and brought a positive aspect home. I must say this didnt turn out as I expected-card carryin monsters assailin the prez and his people. I didnt watch or read the speech, but everything Ive seen about it is positive (except for Sarah Palin and her thinly veiled jab at Bam-but thats Sarah).
Prayer is good. Anytime. And Chief comin’ brand new on the kids issue:PRICELESS!
Glad you made it back in one piece and didnt have no accidents. You forgot what Gran said…
lol*
Honestly DG, the “card carryin monsters” that you thought would be at the Rally were really at Rev Sharpton’s rally. I saw a video from there and never heard so much hate in my life.. where the rally I was at had everything to do with unity.. faith.. changing ourselves for the better.. practicing the words of Dr. King.. relying on God.. Rev Sharpton and his speakers promoted division and hatred. It really made me sad.
Sounds like a step in the right direction. Congratulations! Can’t wait to hear about the whole experience, but so appreciative of these bits.
awww.. thanks Jean!! But you know me.. can’t go from Point A to Point B without a lot of twist and turns in between!!! LOL!! At least I can say I’m not boring!
